What to Wear: Back to School Outfit 1

For my second day of classes, I decided to pair up shorts and a racer-back tank top. I love this tank top because the color makes my skintone pop. It was pretty long so I had to tuck it in my shorts; didn't want people to think I was pantless!

Tip: Wear clothes that go good against your skintone. It will make you stand out and your outfit 10x better. It makes a big difference.

When it came to my accessories, I wore a long necklace with a pearl pendant, a couple of gold bracelets, and a gold leaf headband.

Tanktop: Forever 21, 10.80
Shorts: Old Navy, on sale for 5.00!
Headband: Claire's, on sale for 3/10

Marble Print Relaxed Trousers

Marble Print Relaxed Trousers ($84), Topshop

These pair of trousers are our Spotlight of the Week because they will turn heads no matter what. With a mixture of five colors, these pants will make any outfit stylish. If I was wearing this, I would pair it with a cream or white colored top and black heels. I would keep it simple since these pants would be the stand-out of the outfit.

Solange Knowles has such a funky and unique style. She rocks whatever she puts on and exudes confidence! I particularly love how she styles print on print pieces and menswear! Definitely one of my new style icons. She inspires me to be more fearless with fashion.

What do you think of her style? Let me know below.

DIY - RINGS

Hi All!

So one day I was bored and decided to do another D.I.Y but I had no idea of what I wanted to do. Then I wondered across a picture of a girl with all these mid-rings on and they looked very expensive, I just knew I could make them for a lot less. So I took some wire got started!

Materials needed:
Wire (Michael's or Walmart)
Wire cutters (Michael's)
Cylinder object size of your finger i.e battery, sharpie, chap stick.
Finger nail file

Step 1: measure the wire around the mid point of your finger, right above your knuckle.
Step 2:Then cut the excess when it is comfortable around your finger
Step 3: File the edges with a finger nail file until edges are smooth...this will prevent you from stabbing yourself when you put it on
-Now you have a simple mid ring-

If you want a swirled ring, follow step 1 above but go around your finger a few more time. Then file the ends. I recommend that you put a clear coat of finger nail polish, this will coat the jagged edges a bit so you will not poke yourself when you put it on.

If you are a more visual person here are some You Tubers doing tutorials...Enjoy!

Old School, New School, Back to School

Do you ever find yourself looking at television shows, movies or even music videos from the 90's and say "Hey that's really cute" or "Oh, I saw something like that on one of my favorite celebrities." You're in luck because a trend that is really hot right now is 90's fashion!

With school opening, there are tons of people looking for the latest fashion to wear. We thought it would be fun to show you some ways to style a few key items that were really popular in the 90's.

90's Grunge Trend

In the 90s, grunge was a very popular and cool style. Some would say it's the equivalent to today's "hipster". Grunge involved a lot of Moto-leather jackets, vest, plaid, doc martens, and typically involved dark colors and reds. To be honest, I can't help but think "Uncle Jesse" when seeing some of the outfits for grunge.

Overalls, Dungarees, & Pinafores

Pinafores & Overalls (Dungarees) were everywhere in the 90's, from kids & adults to guys & girls. I love watching Full House and seeing the overall over load! They are so versatile and trendy. We remember watching Clarissa Explains It All and loving her style, so we thought it would be fun to take something she would wear like a pinafore and putting a twist on it!

Distressed Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans! Boyfriends jeans can be so much fun to style. There so many artist who wore baggy jeans in their videos, like Aaliyah, TLC, and Gwen Stefani with No Doubt. Here we styled distressed boyfriend jeans two different ways, urban and girly. Check it out!

Let's us know what you think of the 90's trends making a comeback. Also, let us know of you recall any of the 90's references above, we what to know if you're a true 90's kid! :D

Simple Girl's Night Out

Here is one of my favorite outfits! It is all about simple sophistication. This Audrey Hepburn -esque black dress is paired with a chunky gold metal necklace, and royal purple Steve Madden pumps! This girl is definitely ready for a fun night in the city with her best girlfriend. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t like a LBD!

DIY - Graphic Tee Update

Yesterday, we posted a video called DIY - Graphic Tee: an easy and simple way to make a graphic t-shirt. We have been DYING to do this do-it-yourself for weeks and finally got the chance to today! If you want to refer back to, just scroll down to the previous post or click the D.I.Y page!

We went to JoAnn Fabric & Craft Store, as mentioned in the video, to buy the transfer paper for the images. We had a 40% off coupon so it came up to $4.79 plus tax (orig. price was 7.99!).

For the shirts, we did NOT want to spend a great amount of money. We went to at least five stores, choosing Dollar Tree in the end. We paid $1 (but of course!) for each shirt and got three!

Disclaimer: Now before you jump for joy at this find, there was a little doozy: the shirts were in boy sizes...so the large is the equivalent to a small in womens. Nonetheless, it was still a good deal...if you are a small. With that in the mind, the 2nd place with the best deal was Big Lots. Three shirts came in a pack for six bucks! VERY good deal!

This is the logo we used. It’s an anchor that has the text “I Refuse to Sink” wrapped around. We thought it would look nice on a t-shirt!

     AND IT DID!

Out of the three shirts we made, this one was the BEST! (Okay, more like out of the two shirts…no comment).  We just love the teal color and how it makes the image pop! Also, it resembles the ocean…get it?

So, did anyone of you try it? Have a question that maybe was not answered in the video? Comment below!
