Shealth Dress to a Crop Top
Hey Guys,
So Alex & I decided to challenge ourselves this summer and create as many projects as we can. We also promised ourselves that we will be more committed to this blog and update more often then we have been doing, because to be honest we have fallen off quite a bit. So with that said, I would like to show you guys what I've been working on recently. I loved the sheath dress that I made for my Clothing Analysis class so much that I had an idea to sort of revamp the pattern and make a crop top from it.
Here is the pattern which can be found in Joanns, online, or anywhere where patterns are sold. Also here is Alex modeling the original dress!

So I measured where exactly I wanted the top to end, then measure that length on the pattern and marked it, cut it, then followed the regular instructions for the pattern. Here is the finished result...

DIY Graphic T-Shirt
So I recently came across this video from user Soni Lore on YouTube on how to make your own graphic t-shirt! I would definitely recommend this video for anyone who
1) wants to renovate old clothes from there closet that they were contemplating throwing away or tossing them to the hand-me-down pile
2) loves to have originally made clothes that all their friends are jealous of
3) wants something creative to do
4) is extremely bored and just need something fun to do
Whichever is your reason, this video is definitely something you should check out! We're going to attempt to do it and show you all our results. Until then, have fun :)

Tee's 2nd Semester - Sophomore Yr.
Hey Guys,
Now that school is out and it's summer time, I finally have time to tell you all a little about the classes I took for the second half of my sophomore year! For those of you interested in taking up Fashion Merchandising as a major in college, here is an idea of what classes we took. Though these classes are specific to our universities, we wanted to help you get a sense of what the major consist of. So with that said lets get started...
This time around I took Retailing, which is a marketing class and Clothing Analysis.
In Retailing we discussed ways retailers develop a retailing strategy and retailing mix to be successful in the market place. Retailers focus on so many aspects of business, from the right location, target market, style and layout of the store and so much more. We learned how some companies such as Starbucks and Apple build a competitive advantage over their competition. The class is really all about how companies start out and how they figure out the smartest way to develop their business.
Clothing Analysis is a class where we had to construct and analyze a garment then compare the standards of the garment to the standards of the industry. We were to inspect all aspects of the garment from the design to the final production. It was our decision to select the appropriate textile, findings, and stitches that would comply with the design and the production standards of the industry. The whole class had to make the same dress in the same size. Here is the final product

The Catcher Bootie
So earlier this month, I went to Macy's with the intention of looking at their athletics shoes and winter boots - however, I somehow got very sidetracked. I glanced over to the clearance and these shoes (pictured above) caught my eye! They are apart of the Jessica Simpson Collection, known as the Catcher Bootie. It was originally retailed at Macy's for $110.00 and I got it on sale for, drum roll please....$23.00!! I know right!? After seeing that price, I could not turn these shoes down.
When I tried them on for the first couple of times, they were not that comfortable. But after I broke them in, it was more comfortable to wear.
I've worn them twice for a night out with my girls!
xoxo,
Alex

I love these shoes because they are so versatile: they can be paired with shorts, cuffed jeans or boyfriend jeans. As for the top, you can wear just about anything with it. Whatever you wear it with, make sure A) the outfit has a vibrant color to make it pop since the shoes don't have any and B) that you'll be comfortable wearing these five inch. bad boys or you're going to regret it.

Alex

Hi All!
Do you love the Pretty Little Liars as much as we do? This hit ABC Family show is full of suspense, lies, and dirty secrets. But what's even more mesmerizing than A's trail of deceit is the fashion on the show. In honor of the new season, let's take a look at some of the girl's most memorable looks!

Spencer Hastings
Spencer's style can go from preppy schoolgirl to a bit equestrian. You won't see Spencer in things like spikes or sparkles, but her style is just as fun. She has been seen wearing capes, funky printed dresses and sweaters and oxfords. She definitely sets herself apart from her friends. Spencer's "smart" style translates well on screen, and she subtly pushes the envelop with her style without trying too hard.
What do you think of Spencer's style? Tell us below!

Hi All!

Hanna Marin
Hanna Marin has the most girly look out of all her friends. She is the "fashionista" of the group, expressing on the show that she hopes to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology for college. She wears a lot of fun blazers; anything from snake skinned to stripes. She is often seen in a fit and flare type of dresses, lots of jewelry particularly long necklaces, a fabulous bag and a pair of heels. I think the stylists experiment a lot with Hanna's style because she is the type of person that would be daring enough to mix and match patterns.

Emily Fields
Emily's style is the most relaxed out of the girls. In the beginning of the series, she had more of a sporty look to show her athleticism. Now, her style can be described as tomboy chic with a bit of sporty mixed in.
A typical outfit for Emily would be jeans, converses, and a plain shirt. She will, however, get a little adventurous and pair it with a bomber jacket or a cute denim vest. Her wardrobe also includes slouchy sweatshirts, tank tops, and mini skirts. Even though Emily does not go all out with her fashion choices, she still manages to hold her own when compared to the other girls.

Benefit Cometics: They're Real! Mascara
This is probably the BEST mascara I have ever own. OH MY GOODNESS! It's from Benefit Cosmetics and their description of this product is "They're real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!". And it does just that!
This is the only mascara I use because I know it will last the entire day and it looks good, which I definitely need since I hardly have any left haha. I have a small tube of this glorious piece of heaven because it was a birthday gift from Sephora (If you sign up and become a Beauty Insider, you get a free birthday gift! SO DO IT! FREE = GOOD). But I am seriously thinking about spending the $23 for the bigger size....or maybe ask for it for Christmas.
P.S. If you don't have $23 to drop on some make-up, you can buy the $10 bottle! It's small but it'll last for a good while.
Here is a Before and After photo of myself using the They're real! mascara. You can see the difference.

I hope this review helps anyone looking for good quality make-up to buy! If you have any comments or questions, then do it below! Thanks! :) - Alex

Aria's style is a little more edgier than her friends. She wear a lot of darker colors like brown, black and burgundy most of the time but still plays with bright colors. She keeps her edge by adding fun elements to her outfits like leopard pants, a leather skirt, a studs or a fur vest; and she is never without a pair of heels!
