Christian Louboutin Reinvited The 'Nude' Shoe

Christian Louboutin has done it again! He has found a new way to reinvent the shoe wheel (not really)! Louboutin, who is known for their dazzling red soles put a spin on the classic nude pump. Louboutin thought if there was going to be a nude shoe, (which its purpose is to match one's skin tone) there should be a variety of shades to match all colors of skin. Traditionally there was only one shade, which was of fair skin, now women of all shades can look fierce in their 'nude' pumps and red soles!
Check out this article attached from the Washington Post, featuring the Fashion department chair Professor Janice Ellinwood at my school Marymount University being interviewed on her thoughts about the topic at hand.

Tee's Second Year

Hi all,

I'm so excited to have started my sophomore year of college as a Fashion Merchandising major. This year I'm taking Marketing and Visual Merchandising, which are both pretty chill classes. I love my marketing class because we can get inside the minds of the customers to specifically market to a certain group of people. It's very interesting to find out the different techniques businesses used to market to us. It's also shocking how many steps and strategies marketers have.

Visual Merchandising is about pretty much what you would think it is, the visual aspects of stores and showing merchandise at their very best. So far I've learned about lighting fixtures, displays and color/ texture. The most exciting thing that we did so far was a project creating our own store.

That's what's happening in my my world so far. I'll keep you guys updated.

Tee's Style Commandments

Greetings Fashionistas,

Here are my 5 tips to becoming more stylish and ultimately a better you. This is just my philosophy on what makes any woman (or man) fashionable. Enjoy :)

1. Repurpose, Redesign, and Renovate.

  • Do you have a ton of clothes that you have no idea what to do with. Well if it something that absolutely doesn't fit, so hideous and out of date, or remind you of those horrible middle school days, DONATE those suckers!...BUT, if you think it is a piece that might make a comeback in trends, or something that you are very attached to, why not repurpose it.
  • Find different ways to reinvent an outfit. Whether it be turning jeans into shorts, a dress into a bodysuit, or taking that old scarf and sewing on to a pair of shorts. I spend so much time online finding fun new D.I.Y projects. It's a great way to save money too.
2. Don't Break the Bank.

  • Being fashionable doesn't mean you have to cover in head to toe designer and that is the beauty of fashion!
  • Don't be afraid to shop in thrift shops, vintage shops and boutiques, you might be surprised at what you find.
3. Be Different
  • Nothing is more refreshing than original style! You should always dress they way you want to and wear what fits YOUR body the best.
  • Please don't give into the trends just to fit in, especially if you don't like it. Fashion isn't all about having ALL of the latest trends, pick and choose the ones that fits into your style the best.
4.Dress For Your Body Type
  • This is one tip I cannot stress enough! There are so many different ways to dress in a way to flatter the body you have. No one should be ashamed of their body because everyone is beautiful.
  • Some people seem to very unrealistic of the type of body they do have. Dress for the body you have now, and not the one you want!
  • For me I know I won't look that good in really short shorts because I have fuller thighs and hips and a booty, no matter how cute they are!
  • Showing more doesn't equal sexy either. It's perfectly fine to leave some things to the imagination.
5.Confidence Is Key
  • Confidence is the one thing that looks good on everyone and no outfit is complete without it.
  • A smile and positive attitude is always in style! So smile because you are BEAUTIFUL! :)

What do you think of my tips, let me know below!
